GOD

ONE ANOTHER

FORMBY

At The Village Church Formby, we believe that love isn’t just an idea — it’s a way of life.
That’s why everything we do flows from this threefold calling to:
love God wholeheartedly,
love one another sacrificially,
and love our community generously.

Love God – gather weekly to grow in Him

Our relationship with God is the heartbeat of the Christian life. It begins with grace and is nurtured through the Spirit as we pray, read Scripture, and worship. But it’s not meant to be lived in isolation. That’s why Sundays matter.

When we gather as a church, we come not only to hear God’s Word but to be shaped by it — built up in truth, lifted in praise, and strengthened in fellowship. It’s not about ticking religious boxes; it’s about drawing near to a living Saviour who loves us.

We often say: Christ before Christianity — because it’s who we are in Him, not what we do for Him, that matters most. And we trust that as we live for God’s glory, it will always be for our good.

Connect overlay

Love One Another – connect in real relationships

Following Jesus means walking with others. Church isn’t just a service to attend — it’s a family to belong to. As we gather in smaller groups and serve side by side, we create space to know and be known, to share joys and burdens, and to grow in Christlike maturity.

Real community takes commitment. It means choosing honesty over appearance, progress over perfection, grace over judgement. Our small groups and ministry teams exist to help us practise the “one another” commands of the New Testament — to love, forgive, bear with, and serve each other in Jesus’ name.

Because we believe in we before me. Connection isn’t automatic — it’s intentional. But it’s worth it.

Contribute overlay

Love Our Village – contribute to the mission

God has placed us in Formby on purpose. This is our patch — the place where we live, work, serve, and share Christ. If we don’t reach Formby with the gospel, who will?

We love our village when we contribute. Mission is something we do together — each of us using our time, gifts, and voice so that many might hear and believe. That might mean investing in relationships, inviting someone to hear the gospel, sharing your story, or explaining what Jesus has done.

Our promise is to equip you, support you, and do what we can to help you introduce others to Jesus.

Because we believe in mission before tradition — adapting for the sake of the gospel, not clinging to comfort. The message never changes. But our methods might.

Have a question about our church, Christianity, or growing in your faith?

Don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help.
